Tours along the Danube Planet Trail
Walks
Even a short walk from the Sun to Jupiter (780 m) or to Saturn (1.3 km) can give you an impression of the width of the planetary system, allows you to experience the size of the sun and the minuteness of the earth and the moon.
Small Hikes
Take a longer walk or an inliner hike from Vilshofen harbor to Hofkirchen to the smaller dwarf planets – even faster than the speed of light.
Large Danube Bike Tour
Cycle along the Danube Planet Trail as a part of the large Danube Bike Tour . Start by the dwarf planet Eris in Winzer and ride to the Sun in the harbor of Vilshofen, (approx 11 km). Afterwards feel free to explore the city.
A Day Trip by Bike
(Round trip – approx. 35 km)
You will start by the sun model at Vilshofen harbor. You will follow the Danube Planet Trail down to Winzer. Along the way, you’ll pass other interesting stops:
- Castle Hilgartsberg Ruins
- Sattlinger Pond
- Brick and Lime museum in Flintsbach
- In Winzer you can visit the Observatory on Pledlberg mountain
The path then takes you over the Danube bridge in the direction of Mühlhammer Keller. From here you have a very nice view of the Danube loop. The way back then runs to the right of the Danube, past the market square in Osterhofen, the Asambasilika in Altenmarkt, the Roman Museum in Künzing and the town square in Vilshofen. On the way you will find numerous places to stop.
